Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is blaming fiancée Taylor Swift for a household accident, though very much in a joking way.
During a lighthearted appearance on the Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast, the Super Bowl champion tight end laughed that Swift’s baking hobby has led to weight gain — and a broken chair.
“I’m Travis Kelce, Kylie Kelce’s brother-in-law,” he joked at the start of the show. “And I’m not gonna lie, I broke Taylor’s chair with the weight I gained from her sourdough.”
The remark drew laughter from host Kylie Kelce, who replied, “That’s true love.”
Baking, bread, and playful banter
Kelce quickly clarified he was not complaining. Instead, he praised Swift’s homemade bread, joking that it improves his gut health and that he happily accepts the consequences.
Swift’s sourdough baking has become a well-known hobby in recent months. Earlier this year she shared homemade loaves with friends including members of the band Haim and other musicians in her circle.
Fans have heard similar jokes before. During a 2025 appearance on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Swift poked fun at herself, saying her hobbies feel like they belong in the 1700s and admitting she goes through intense baking phases.
A glimpse into their off-field life
Kelce’s comments offered another rare peek into the couple’s private life, showing the playful dynamic behind one of pop culture’s most talked-about relationships.
For Kelce, the broken chair appears to be a small price to pay. As he previously said about Swift’s hobbies, “I am the luckiest man in the world.”
