The Tampa Bay Rowdies have officially begun their 2026 preseason training camp, bringing a fresh lineup to the field at Al Lang Stadium. This season marks the first full campaign under head coach Dominic Casciato, who has spent the offseason rebuilding the team following a disappointing finish in 2025.

Casciato has overhauled the roster, adding 17 new players to a squad with only five returning members. The head coach emphasized that the major changes were necessary to inject new energy and commitment into the team. “We now have players who are fully dedicated and eager to give their all for the club,” Casciato said.

This week, the new additions to the green and gold lineup are training together for the first time, working to develop team chemistry and a shared tactical identity. Forward MD Myers, attending his first camp with the Rowdies, highlighted the excitement of building connections on and off the field. “Once the chemistry starts clicking, I think it’s going to be a really enjoyable season,” he said.

Despite the extensive roster changes, some familiar faces remain to provide guidance and continuity. Former midfielder-turned-coach Yann Ekra and goalie coach Stuart Dobson continue to be part of the staff. Club legend and former USL MVP Leo Fernandes has also stepped into a coaching role, helping new players understand the club’s culture and expectations. Casciato stressed the value of having experienced mentors to guide the team through the transition.

The preseason camp is expected to last nearly two months, giving the Rowdies additional time to align players with their system and prepare for the season. Casciato acknowledged the challenges ahead but believes that the extended training period will pay dividends once the competitive matches begin. “We know it won’t be all smooth sailing, but this extra week—or two—of preparation will help get everyone on the same page,” he said.

The Rowdies will continue training at Al Lang Stadium leading up to their season opener on March 7 against Birmingham Legion FC. With a refreshed roster, experienced mentors, and a dedicated coaching staff, Tampa Bay aims to start the 2026 season stronger and more cohesive than ever.
