The Belarusian player, a four-time Grand Slam champion, shared the moment with fans on Instagram, posting a video that showed her flashing a large oval-shaped diamond ring while sitting with Frangulis at a candlelit outdoor dinner.
“Well, I obviously had NO idea this was happening tonight,” Sabalenka wrote in an Instagram Story alongside footage of the proposal.
In the clip, Sabalenka jokingly commented about how she looked during the surprise moment before turning the camera toward Frangulis, who praised her appearance.
Romantic proposal shared on social media
The couple later posted photos from the special moment, captioning them: “You & me, forever ♾️ 3.3.26 💍🤍.”
The proposal appears to have taken place in an intimate outdoor setting decorated with candles and flowers, creating a dramatic backdrop for the surprise engagement.
Sabalenka, 27, appeared to be taking a picture of Frangulis before he suddenly dropped to one knee and presented the ring.

Sabalenka first confirmed her relationship with Frangulis in May 2024, when the pair attended the Italian Open together and were photographed at the tournament.
Since then, the couple has occasionally shared glimpses of their relationship on social media while largely keeping their personal life private.

She previously dated former NHL player Konstantin Koltsov, who died in March 2024 in what authorities described as an apparent suicide in Miami.
