Helena Bonham Carter, Chris Messina, and newcomer Marissa Long are the latest stars to check in to season 4 of HBO’s hit series The White Lotus, creator Mike White’s acclaimed vacation satire.
Entertainment Weekly confirmed the new cast additions on Thursday, expanding a lineup that already includes previously announced season 4 cast members Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Alexander Ludwig, and AJ Michalka.
The Emmy-winning series is heading to France for its fourth installment, which will once again unfold over the course of a single, eventful week at a luxury White Lotus resort. As with past seasons, plot details and character information are being kept tightly under wraps, including whether any familiar faces from earlier chapters might return.
Season 4 continues the show’s tradition of pairing biting social commentary with escalating tension. Previous seasons, set in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand, blended satire with darker storylines involving crime, betrayal and sudden deaths, making each new location a source of intense speculation among fans.
Long will make her television debut on the series, while Bonham Carter and Messina bring extensive film and television résumés. Bonham Carter is widely known for roles ranging from Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter franchise to acclaimed performances in The Crown, which earned her two Emmy Awards, along with multiple Oscar nominations across her career.
Messina, meanwhile, is best recognized for his role as Danny Castellano on The Mindy Project and has appeared in a range of television dramas and films, including Six Feet Under, Sharp Objects, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The White Lotus is created, written, and directed by Mike White and executive produced by White alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine. The series has become one of HBO’s most talked-about dramas, with earlier seasons featuring surprise returns from fan favorites such as Jennifer Coolidge, Jon Gries, and Natasha Rothwell.
Production details and a release timeline for season 4 have not yet been announced, but anticipation is already building as a new set of guests prepares to arrive and unravel in France.
