Cardi B unleashed a fiery response on social media Monday after Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz attempted to connect her to a controversial report alleging that bots have been artificially amplifying Nicki Minaj’s political content on X (formerly Twitter).
The drama began when Politico published findings from Cyabra, an Israeli disinformation tracking company, titled “Inauthentic Amplification of Political Discourse on Nicki Minaj’s X Account.” The report claims that 33% of accounts interacting with Minaj over two months were fake, representing over 18,000 inauthentic accounts out of nearly 55,000 analyzed.
When Bruesewitz dismissed the report as a “total scam” and suggested Cardi B was somehow involved due to her agent Mike G’s connection to Cyabra, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper immediately pushed back.
“Listen, you involved me in something that has nothing to do with me, so now we’re gonna talk about the facts,” Cardi wrote in response, threatening to “sue you, you wet dirty dog.”
The Data Behind the Controversy
Cyabra’s analysis revealed particularly striking findings for December 26, when 56% of all comments on Minaj’s political posts came from fake accounts. The company concluded that “a coordinated fake campaign was actively amplifying political content on Nicki Minaj’s X account” during the studied period, levels substantially higher than typically observed in organic social media discourse.
Cardi B defended herself by explaining that Cyabra is a legitimate data company with high-profile investors and customers, including Elon Musk and Pepsi, and even has former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on its advisory board.
“So what you need to focus on is the fact that data is VERY real and leave me out of your bulls—,” she declared.
Minaj’s Political Evolution
The report comes as Nicki Minaj has undergone a notable political transformation. While the Trinidad and Tobago-born rapper previously rapped about voting for Mitt Romney in 2012, she has become an unequivocal supporter of Donald Trump and right-wing politics over the past year.
In January, Minaj appeared alongside Trump at an event announcing his new Trump Accounts policy, where she touted receiving a “Trump Gold Card” that she claimed finalized her U.S. citizenship.
Longstanding Feud Continues
The controversy adds another layer to the years-long feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, most recently sparked by disputes over sales of Cardi’s latest album, “Am I the Drama?”
While Mike G, a member of Cardi’s representation team at United Talent Agency, was indeed announced as a Cyabra advisory panel member in 2025, Cardi insisted she doesn’t “keep track of my agents’ investments.”
The rapper concluded her defense by criticizing the priorities of Trump’s team: “America has so many issues, businesses are closing, homeowners are slashing the prices on their homes, and interest rates are high. Yet Trump’s advisor is arguing on Twitter with a female rapper. Ladies and gentlemen, this is America.”
Neither Cardi B nor Nicki Minaj’s representatives immediately responded to requests for comment. Minaj has not yet publicly addressed the Cyabra report.
