One person has died and two others were injured after a shooting broke out during a large gathering at a home in Davenport, Florida, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they responded shortly after 1 a.m. to reports of gunfire at a residence on Summerset Hills Drive, where a large group of people had gathered. When officers arrived at the scene, they found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim later died at a hospital, while the other two were reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims as they continue notifying family members. Investigators also confirmed that no suspects were immediately taken into custody, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation.
Officials said the gathering involved multiple attendees, and detectives are working to determine what led to the violence. Deputies are reviewing evidence from the scene and interviewing witnesses in an effort to identify those responsible.
The incident prompted a significant law-enforcement response in the neighborhood as officers secured the area and began collecting information. Residents nearby were urged to remain alert and contact investigators if they observed anything suspicious before or after the shooting.
